Diversity at Freie Universit?t Berlin

“Diversity” refers to our ability and readiness to acknowledge and value the many interlinked differences and commonalities between groups of people, and to dismantle barriers that prevent people from being able to participate equally in society. Antidiscrimination is thus an inherent aspect of our understanding of diversity here at Freie Universit?t Berlin.?

Freie Universit?t Berlin considers it a core responsibility to acknowledge and to promote diversity and to self-critically identify, reflect on, and remove exclusionary practices and structures. This requires an awareness of the power structures at play. We strive to foster equitable participation and a learning and working environment that values all members of the university. In order to achieve our overarching objectives we have developed and documented a Diversity Strategy and Action Plan in which our objectives are translated into concrete outcomes and measures.

This website provides a wide range of information about the topic of diversity and (anti)discrimination and about relevant concepts, structures, goals, resources and activities at the Freie Universtit?t. The translation into English is underway so that only a limited amount of content is currently available in English – thank you for your understanding. When the complete English version is published an announcement will be made via the?Diversity@fu?mailing list.
